①. [Research] Simulating alcohol effect in XR

1. Overview / 概要

Research question: What is the impact of XR simulated alcohol intoxication on perceived personal health and understanding of alcohol impact?
This research is planned to simulate the effects of alcohol intoxication in XR with VR headset (Meta Quest 3). It focuses on simulating vision, hearing (auditory discrimination impairment) and coordination impairments using Unity, including the vision impairment like blurriness, delayed feedback, and the coordination impairment like delayed movement, delayed hand tracking. User study includes interactive tasks, followed by surveys to evaluate the simulation’s educational value.

2. Objectives / 研究目的

The aim of this research is to help people understand the effects of alcohol abuse, increasing their awareness of the risks of alcohol, and the goal is that this XR simulation would be a preventative and educational resource.

- I added an image of 1,000-yen to the Reference Image Library, allowing players to summon a dragon by scanning a 1,000-yen bill.
